könig x fem reader
summ: you're known as the barracks bunny while you and könig are dating
word count: 1.8k
content/warnings: angst, comfort
a/n: i love könig and writing angst so why not combine them? this is my first cod "fic" so i'm pretty excited! i know my account has been primarily aot but i hope this reaches the cod fandom. love you all
Rumors spread fast in the military. Everyone on the base knew that, especially you.
König and you had been together for a while now and while all the guys knew you were his, there were still whispers floating around. Whispers soon turned to stares, stares to quiet laughing and eventually, the whole base knew you as the barracks bunny.
Now, König’s not stupid, of course he heard what the other cadets were saying and to say he was not happy was an understatement. He knew he had to do something but with three warnings racked up (for beating up other soldiers who were talking shit about you) he couldn’t just fight everyone on the entire base. The next best option was to confront you about it.
His footsteps down the hall sounded like thunder and his breathing was lightning. Each step he took was filled with anger and everyone he passed could hear it. How could these people say those things about his schatz?
“You know she’s slept with half of us already?”
“She’s such a slut”
“I wonder if I’ve ever got a chance with her”
It's so cruel. His precious lover being reduced to a “slut” a “whore” a “barracks bunny” it was all too much. König was trained to keep cool during battle, to withstand weeks of torture, to take stabs to the chest and bullets in the leg but this? No. This was unacceptable.
He’s closer to your room now. Closer to finding out the truth and his thoughts are racing. What if it is true? Has this whole relationship been a sham? Rumors don't come from nowhere, there has to be some validity behind it. He hopes it’s not true. He really, really does because what would be left for him without you? What would he be fighting for?
König stands outside your door. Just standing. His hand is on the doorknob but he can’t bring himself to open it. He can hear you laughing on the other side with someone else. So it was true. König could feel his heart break and shatter into a million pieces. The already faint talking started sounding like gibberish as he slowly let his hand fall from the door to his side. It felt like time had stopped and everything around him faded away into oblivion. Maybe he had been there for 30 seconds, a minute, 5 minutes, who could say. Nothing mattered anymore.
Thoughts of leaving KorTac crossed his mind since..what was left for him here? You had lied to him. You promised it was all a joke and nothing happened. That you were his one and only.
The trance was suddenly broken when the door opened and a hand pressed against his chest.
“König, what are you doing?” your familiar voice brought him to his senses.
He couldn’t look you in the eyes. His head bowed, eyes settling on the ground.
You tried shaking his arm but he barely budged.
So tense, you thought.
“Hey talk to me big guy” you brought your fingers to his chin lifting his head. It’s a reach. “Please”
König let you lift his head but averted his gaze to the room in front of him. It was Ghost.
Ghost was the one in your room. Why him of all people?
“You lied to me” , his accent thick.
He felt betrayed. His only love had gone behind his back and stabbed him in the heart. This hurt more than any wound he’d ever had. Bullet holes were nothing compared to this. No knife could cut deep enough to produce the same pain he was feeling.
“When were you going to tell me? That there were others in your life” he struggled to get the words out of his mouth.
“What are you talking about?” you were audibly confused. “Is this about those rumors you’ve heard? I told you they were all fake”
König mustered up the courage to look you in the face. You were so beautiful. Even though he was angry, he couldn’t get enough of you. He could look at you forever if he wanted. Your eyes seemed to suck him in like a black hole. Once you’re in, you can’t get back out. No matter how hard you try. No matter how hard he tried.
But past all that, he couldn’t find a hint of deception in your face. You looked genuinely lost.
“Why is Ghost in your room?” König glanced up to him.
Ghost wasn’t doing anything. Not hurriedly pulling up his pants, not putting his shirt back on, nothing that would point to them being interrupted. He was calmly sitting on a chair, observing a rifle. Fully clothed, mask and all. You, on the other hand, were still dressed in cargo pants and a creme tank top that hugged your chest. So what the hell were you two doing?
“He was showing me how to load ammo more efficiently” you turned back to Ghost, he was completely unbothered. Not even looking up.
Everyone knew you had a hard time loading ammo quickly and were often stuck using knives and other weapons in place of guns. Price was even close to discharging you because of this.
Lovers quarrel, he thought. It was a ridiculous argument and Ghost wanted no part of it. He got up to leave, tossing your AUG on the bed. He casually walked out, ignoring a stare from König that could burn cities.
“Good luck” he whispered to you, passing the door and disappearing into the hallway.
Now you are alone. With König. This would usually be ideal but now it was scary. You know he would never ever lay a hand on you but maybe it was different this time? You hadn’t done anything but he didn’t know that. All he knew was another man was in your room while he wasn’t. This would make anyone angry. The whole situation was just a huge misunderstanding.
“I don’t want to have this conversation in the doorway. Can you please come in?” you reached for his arm but he pulled away before you could touch him.
You were dirty to him. Tainted. He was aware you weren’t a virgin before you met him, but when you’re in a relationship, sex is sacred. At least to König.
He walked in the room first, scanning it for any disturbances or abnormalities. None. There wasn’t anything out of place: sheets tucked tightly under the corners of the bed, clothes hung up in the small closet, everything was in order.
He took a seat on the same chair Ghost was occupying minutes earlier. It was still warm. You sat on the bed facing across from him. König’s leg was bouncing so fast it made the chair shake and his hands were fidgeting with themselves.
You slowly got up and kneeled down in front of him, taking his hands in yours. He looked down at your interlocked fingers then to your eyes. You looked sad. He never wanted to make you feel this way but what you did was unforgivable.
“Believe me König, I would never do anything to hurt you” you had a slight smile on your face, trying to comfort him.
He didn’t smile back. What he needed was the truth. Where the rumors were coming from, why you got weird stares, and how long this has been going on. If you couldn't tell him, or if he thought you were lying, he might just have to end this. He doesn’t want to but how can he be with a liar, a cheater, someone unfaithful.
“Tell me everything,” he said in a deep voice. Eyes fixated on you, unmoving.
“There is no everything, König. Just stupid boys trying to start something out of nothing” you explained, “I promise”
His leg had slowed down to a steady pace, still bouncing, but more controlled. You rubbed your thumb along his knuckles. Soothing. Like a mother’s touch. Except he could never remember his mother touching him like this. Like anything. You were the first one in his life to show any affection. Romantically or platonically.
“Do you promise?” he squeezed your hands.
Please don’t lie to me schatz. You’re all I have.
“I promise”
That’s all König needed to hear. He wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug. It was awkward. He wasn’t used to hugging people. It was suffocating but warm. His large frame surrounding your small body made you feel at home. He was your home. And you were his.
“Ich liebe dich Engel. Bitte bleib für immer bei mir” he muttered into your neck.
“Ich liebe dich auch” you replied through broken German.
He had taught you some of his native tongue when you had spare time. Simple phrases like “I love you” “cuddle me” “please” and so on. You wrote down all the things he taught you in a little notebook and often referred back to them when you had the chance. In your opinion, it was a pointless language with long words that made no sense and unnecessary diacritics, but you’d do anything for your king.
You held each other for a while, slightly rocking back and forth. He breathed in the scent of your hair and you rubbed his back, stopping for a moment then continuing.
You felt your body begin to lift, feet dangling in the air. You wrapped your legs around König’s waist for support as he carried you to the bed. He slowly lays you down, stepping back for a minute.
“Aren’t you coming?” you patted the space next to you.
Of course König was coming, he just didn’t want to hurt you. Lying down directly on top you would surely suffocate you and he couldn’t do that to his little Maus. You were so small compared to him, so fragile. He’d seen you kill countless men, but in his eyes you were still his delicate Blume.
“Yes my dear, I need to know you are comfortable though” he looked down at you.
Your safety and needs always came before his. In the bedroom, on the battlefield, and anywhere else you might be. You were his whole world and he wanted to make sure you knew that. You did. He told you everyday. Constantly showering you with compliments and praises.
“I am”
König’s gentle climbing in next to you, careful not to crush you. He lays on his side as you snuggle into him, face in his chest. So warm. You could hear his heartbeat, such a steady and comforting sound. A slight smile forms on his lips as he wraps you in his arms engulfing your torso. You stayed there for what felt like forever, savoring this sweet moment. Who knows how many more of these you would get. Your jobs were dangerous to say the least. Living to see another day was a gift, not a promise. But being with him made it all worth it. He’s the love of your life. You would never want to be with anyone else. Only him.
“You are everything to me, Meine Liebe” he whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
His Liebe. Forever and always.

Spider-Man Fics Masterlist 2
part one
5 times Peter Parker ignores Flash and 1 time he didn’t (ao3) - Dorthea N/R, 14k
Summary: Flash is known for being a bully, and most of the time Peter ignores it. But what happens when he dosen’t ignore Flash?
Or 5 times Peter Parker ignores Flash and 1 time he didn’t.
A Parent Apparent (ao3) - happyaspie mj/peter T, 528k
Summary: In which the author indulges herself in some shameless Irondad/Spiderson with fluff, angst and everything in between because she needs more of that in her life.
OR
Just another one of those, oh so overdone, fanfics where Tony and Peter’s relationship grows into more of a father/son relationship after an accident involving Aunt May (who lives)
Brave as a Noun (ao3) - edema_ruh M, 161k
Summary: Some people think that Peter is Tony’s son. Why shouldn’t they? Peter seems to be orbiting Tony all the time, and it’s not like the billionaire tells him off. They have a nice relationship - Peter is glad to have a father figure, and Tony cares for the kid as if he’s actually his son.
The first problem regarding this arises when the people who think that Peter is Tony’s son kidnap him for ransom.
The second problem regarding this arises when one of the people who kidnaps Peter turns out to be Mac Gargan, the Scorpion, and he’s hungry for revenge.
Daily Bugle Report: Under New Management (ao3) - d0d0bird M, 4k
Summary: Peter Parker had worked at the Bugle for years. He and Betty had grown close. Betty had even developed feelings for him, though he never opened up to her. She considered that it may have been stupid to turn on all of her friends for someone like that. Sometimes it felt like she had no one left.
“Hey.”
“Hey,” sighed Betty with a smile, turning around to see Ned.
Ned had a gentle smile on his face as he looked at Betty digging through the trash. Ned had been the only one not to completely turn against Betty following the trial. He continued to say hi to her every morning, offer his help, and ask her advice on stories. His wide, almost dopey smile had become comforting.
Distracted by a Dime (ao3) - happyaspie steve/tony T, 56k
Summary: Peter Parker thinks he has everything figured out. Where he can eat, sleep and make a little bit of money. What he needs to do in order to continue attending Midtown High and being Queen’s friendly neighborhood Spider-man. How to keep his entire situation under wraps and most importantly, who he can trust.
Then, along comes Tony Stark with an offer he can’t refuse. The plan is to remain professional, to not get too close to the Stark-Rogers’ family. Not getting comfortable means not slipping up and saying anything that he can’t take back.
…but for Peter- things rarely go as planned…
Do I Deserve This? (ao3) - id_rather_be_reading_3 T, 72k
Summary: When the Avengers find a malnourished, traumatized, enhanced teen in a Hydra base, they manage to convince SHIELD that the kid is better off in the Compound than the SHIELD Headquarters.
Peter Parker thinks his luck might finally be changing for the better, until he hears a conversation between Captain America and Iron Man that terrifies him–if the superheroes find out that Peter was an assassin for Hydra, he feels certain they’ll kick him out–or worse, send him to the Raft for a punishment he surely deserves.
Can the Spider manage to keep his bloodied past a secret from a room full of mind readers, spies and military? It’ll certainly prove harder than he’d thought.
Dumpster Diving for Treasure (ao3) - Clovrtree T, 185k
Summary: After waking up from his own demise in an alternate universe, Peter's first course of action is to gather as much information and resources as possible to make his life easier. In doing this, he decides that dumpster diving at local playboy billionaire, Bruce Wayne's, manor would be the best place to find anything useful. Unfortunately for Peter, it's trash day, and a certain butler catches him mid-dive.
if you run fast enough (ao3) - silvyri peter/wade E, 60k
Summary: Peter probably shouldn't be falling asleep on Deadpool, but after the Merc with a Mouth saves him from being abducted by two dick Alphas, he doesn't try as hard as he should to not.
I Think Clint Was Right (ao3) - prettycheese21 G, 7k
Summary: Or that time Clint eavesdropped on a few conversations, came up with a conspiracy theory, and convinced the other Avengers to go along with it; and Tony and Peter are left wondering how this kind of misunderstanding could have even happened.
I Think I Missed a Step (‘Cause I’m Fallin’ For You) (ao3) - mokuyoubi peter/wade E, 42k
Summary: Peter thinks Wade knows his secret identity, and Wade is really confused by the hot coed who keeps popping up and hanging out with him.
it's always who is spider-man, never how is spider-man (ao3) - i_regret_thatpersonalityquiz harley/peter, wanda/vision, pepper/tony T, 176k
Summary: Peter had been living on the streets, dealing with your average homeless vigilante stuff. Things got a bit more complicated when the Avengers started to chase him down.
It's a Secret to Everybody (ao3) - Snapdragon_in_the_Snow pepper/tony T, 97k
Summary: “I have kids," Clint said. "I know dad behavior when I see it.” Tony blinked multiple consecutive times, processing the statement. “Excuse me?” “Tony,” Steve said now, “how long have you had a son? And how come we’ve never known about him?” “Yeah,” Clint spoke again, “I thought I was the only one with a secret family. Turns out you’ve had one longer than me!” ------- Peter gets to spend all summer living in Avengers Tower with Tony. When the Rogue Avengers get pardoned and come back to live at the Tower too, they're confused as to who Peter is. However, once they see how Tony acts around Peter, that confusion goes away, as they know for certain who Peter must be - Tony's secret son. Tony and Peter decide to make the most of the situation, and play along. They hope they can keep up the act all summer. But they soon learn that they barely have to act at all.
Miscommunications (ao3) - Isnt_it_pretty_to_think_so T, 14k
Summary: Five times the Avengers learn about Peter Parker, and the one time the rest of the world does, too.
Missing Links (ao3) - spagbol99 steve/bucky, pepper/tony M, 424k
Summary: The Rogues are back; Tony Stark couldn't even be mad about it - it was his idea after all. He's an Avenger and that means protecting the Earth at any cost - even if he has to deal with a certain star-spangled man and his sullen sidekick. After all, he's been through worse in his life; the loss of his wife and the disappearance of his son 12 years ago. Compared to that, this would be a walk in the park.
Bucky Barnes is back on US soil as a free man. But freedom is more than just physical. On top of that, Steve is desperate for him to be the man he was before. The only problem is; that man is long dead.
Peter Parker has been through the mill but he knows he just had to adapt, roll with the (many) punches and keep going. Spider-man is his safe place now, the one time he could truly feel like himself. Like he is making a difference. He'd make sure no one would suffer like he has, even if he has to track down the perpetrator himself.
Not Who You Think (ao3) - lostintheclouds321 G. 14k
Summary: Flash and his father are awarded a tour of the Avenger’s compound.
Peter Parker’s Super Secret Snack Stash (ao3) - coconutknightshade T, 7k
Summary: Or in which Peter uses FRIDAY’s system to have a conversation with Ned about AP History while he’s sneaking into his super secret snack stash in the kitchen.
Or in which Peter’s spidey senses betray him in the most embarrassing of ways.
Protocol Be Damned (ao3) - Icylightning T, 31k
Summary: “Have you heard of Tony Stark?”
Peter’s eyes instantly widened at the mention of the man’s name. You’re not a New Yorker of you haven’t heard of Mafia Boss Tony Stark, the most dangerous and violent person in the city. Rumors say the man talks with a gun in hand and if he doesn’t like what he hears, the gun ends their conversation. It was not that the cops never tried to arrest the man but they failed everytime, either due to lack of evidence or in some cases fear of life
“Kid, hey did you hear what I just said?” the manager snapped his fingers bringing Peter back to reality who blinked rapidly, trying not to show his fear “Yeah.. Sir.. umm.. what?”
That Neighborhood Menace, Spider-Man (ao3) - Blue (SocksandFluff) T, 59k
Summary: Peter had only been in the gig of being Spider-Man for less than two years. He avoided the Avengers and other heroes like the plague, knowing that if they knew who he was and how old he was that they’d stop him from helping people.
Now Spider-Man is entangled in assumptions of character, and the fear that he is a vigilante that could go rogue and power-hungry, the Avengers are tasked at stopping him before he 'goes too far’.
This is a story about how Spider-Man and the Avengers finally meet -
- and how Peter might get more than he would ever ask for.
The Ghost of Heroes (ao3) - Enigmaris, ScarletNightFury danny phantom/spiderman T, 291k
Summary: New York City isn't prepared for a ghostly invasion. The Avengers are finally all in the same place again. Thor and Bruce are back from space with a semi-reformed chaos god and a thousand refugees in tow. Steve and the Rogues have got their pardons and are ready to start being heroes again. But Tony isn't ready trust, neither is his new protegee Spiderman. The fractured team can't seem to come together. It's a good thing then that Danny Phantom is ready to save the day. That doesn't mean anyone is prepared for when he keeps showing up.
The Lost and Forgotten (ao3) - Litcraz T, 272k
Summary: In order to save everyone's lives, Peter is forced to give up memories - their memories of him. As a result, he is left entirely alone in a world where no one knows he exists. After finally moving on with his life, a new threat arises, bringing Peter back directly into the Avengers' path.

Hi! Hello! First off, I'm really, really sorry cause this is gonna be BIG.
Second: I'm team Natasha all the way and let me tell you why.
Remember AOU when she told Bruce she was a monster bc she couldn't have children? So, for me, it feels like she sees this as a defining character of hers, something that constitutes who she is as a person, so imagine if someone offers up a way to "fix you" as person, just to then have that stripped away from you, shit like that has the capacity to alter your whole perception of self.
Ok, now that we established that, imagine having your (newfound and fragile) sense of self being stripped from you, coupled up with the unhealthy way the Red-Room "taught" the widows to deal with emotions, COUPLED UP with hormonal changes. It's the recipe of a human timebomb.
I'm not saying Nat was in the right. She wasn't, she used us as an emotional punching bag and she has A LOT to make up for, BUT, I do believe the reader wasn't at all innocent either.
First, reader REALLY downplayed the possible outcome of a crazy-hormonal Natasha, a lot. It feels like we were like "meh, we'll deal with it when it comes" instead of "my wife is probably going to go through hell so I'll have to be prepared to be an emotional rock for her and keep my cool at her outbursts at the same time" when Bruce told us about the hormonal changes. So, once again, taking into account Natasha's more-than-traumatic upbringing, this feels like a major downplay on our part.
Second, I had a feeling that we gaslighted Nat a bit there, with her being jealous and worried about our relationship with Wanda, and us being all like "she's just a friend, what are you talking about?" when in fact we already realized we had feelings for her. We may not have physically cheated, but emotional cheating is a thing, and the moment we realized we were developing feelings for Wanda, we should have stepped back. The Avengers are a family, and with us being married to Nat for a good 5 years (also, dick move not remembering the anniversary) we're bound to have become good friends with at least a couple other team members, so why not go to them after we realized our feelings for Wanda?
Third, I didn't see Wanda as someone Reader cared about specially, you know? It felt more like "I'm in this really rough moment, this is the one person here for me, they're my rock now". It feels WAY MORE like reader is emotionally drained and Wanda kinda charges them than them having actual feelings for her. I mean, we didn't get the whole story of how R and Nat got together, but they've been together for 5 years, that has to count for something, we wouldn't be together if we didn't love each other.
So, to summ it up. I think Natasha fucked up, yes, but I think we're as to blame as her. I also think we love her way more than we do Wanda, I think once our relationship gets back on track we'll realized Wanda was just our "consolation prize" for not having our wife there.
And lastly, I think Reader would become such an antagonist in this story if they left a pregnant and very-much-still-in-love Natasha (and the baby; pls, don't make us be the parent who abandons their wife and their kid, I've already had one of those in my life, didn't want to become one, not even for a fic, lol) for a got-to-know-her-for-a-couple-months Wanda.
So... Yeah, I think you could say, by the lengh of this ask, that I absolutely LOVED your story. It was so freaking amazing. I truly adored it. My heart ached for Nat every time. The pain was exquisite.
thank you :) and a very good read for everyone else here as well

part 5: memories of a stranger // a satosugu reincarnation au
chapter 5: a painted face
Satoru gazes down at his canvas, his grip tightening on the handle of his brush as he tries to push down the sense of unease rising in his chest. It’s not a particularly unique painting; in fact, it’s one of the simpler ones he’s created recently, almost all wispy strokes and soft lines, but something about the picture strikes a chord within him. The canvas is dark, almost black, only broken up by two spots of color that take the form of betta fish - a black and a white - swimming towards each other. He narrows his eyes, trying to figure out what looks so glaringly wrong about it.
“I trust that you all have been hard at work on your portraits as well? As I’ve mentioned, because it’s a summative, it will be weighted higher than your other assignments, so keep that in mind when you’re allocating your time. That’s all for today.”
As ‘thank you’s’ echo around him, blending with the clattering of paintbrushes and shuffling of chairs, he slowly eases himself to his feet and shoots a final, lingering glance at his completed painting. He’s unusually deep in thought; so much so that he doesn’t notice the presence over his shoulder until she speaks.
“Damn, Satoru. You depressed or something?”
He turns his head to meet Shoko’s mildly interested gaze, currently zeroed in on his newest creation, and gives her a long-suffering look.
“Wow, us artists can’t even express ourselves through nature anymore?” He huffs, finally folding away his easel and tucking his canvas under his shoulder as he follows her out of the classroom.
“I’m not sure what you were trying to express through that, but it’s pretty, I guess.”
“Aw, Shoko! By the way- not that I’m complaining- but since when am I personally escorted to and from my classes?”
A smirk crosses her features as she exhales through her slightly open mouth (in a way that, to Satoru, is reminiscent of when she wouldn’t have been caught dead without a cigarette between her lips). “Don’t get used to it. They just sent me to pick you up since we’re eating on campus today, and you never respond to our texts.”
“Oh, yeah, ‘cause I muted the- huh? Who’s ‘they’? Are you k-”
“Don’t worry, you’re safe. I doubt anyone kidnapping you would be able to deal with you for long.“
“That’s crazy. Sounds like their loss.”
“Sounds like poor planning. I’d have had the duct tape ready.”
“Okay, let’s tone it down a little. I don’t think you’ve thought that thr-” He’s cut off by the sound of his phone vibrating in his pocket, and shoots a slightly affronted look at the source of the interruption.
“Who the-” His eyes shift to the caller ID on his screen, and he rolls his eyes and silences the phone, shoving it back into his pocket with more force than necessary. Shoko follows this movement unconcernedly.
“One of your marriage candidates?”
“Worse, my parents. Knowing them, though, that might be next.”
She laughs brightly at this, apparently delighting in the picture of Satoru’s misery, and is about to respond when he suddenly stiffens and speaks up again, his tone inclining towards significance.
“Shoko, is that him?”
It’s a rhetorical question, of course; but it took until a second after he finished speaking for him to realize it. Something in the air had shifted, casting everything around him in a soft, rose-tinted glow; the sky was suddenly bluer, the feeling of the breeze washing over his face more pleasant, the cold inexplicably less biting.
It was as though his very world had righted itself, but he’d only just realized it was off-kilter.
Suguru was near him, it was indubitable. So when his eyes finally found that gleaming dark hair and familiar frame, it was little more than vindication.
Shoko knows this, from the way she stays silent and looks instead to her phone, her lips playing at a smirk as Satoru rushes down to the cluster of picnic tables near the edge of the grass clearing, his face open and soft and delighted in a way that even - especially? - his childhood self would have thought inconceivable.
“SUGURUUU! YOU GO HERE?”
When Satoru’s shriek rings out in the open air, Suguru turns away from Nanami with a ‘what-the-actual-hell’ look on his face that melts into a resigned, bordering on fond smile. “Surprise.”
“Suguru!” He repeats, and the second time feels a little more raw, a little more genuine. He imagines, for a moment, what it would be like to hug him- it would be so easy, to throw his arms around Suguru right now, when he’s already running towards him, and hold him so, so tightly and play it off as some sort of spontaneous greeting between new friends and not an excuse to find out what his skin would feel like against Satoru’s. He stops himself just short, a stupidly giddy smile on his lips that he can’t seem to cast away.
“I can’t remember the last time someone was this happy to see me.” Suguru comments, his gaze briefly traveling up the length of Satoru’s uniform to his face before flicking back down to the canvas under his arm. “You’re an artist, Satoru?”
“Yep! Well, when I graduate.” He falls against one of the seats of the picnic table across from Suguru, his belongings gathered on the grass beside him. Shoko swats him lightly in the back of the head as she comes up behind him before settling next to Utahime on the other side of the table.
“Ow, what was that for?!”
“For leaving a poor, defenseless maiden to walk all alone.” She replies obviously.
“Defenseless.” He grumbles, rubbing his hair as Utahime openly snickers at him and Nanami turns away to disguise a smirk.
“Poor Satoru.” Suguru’s smooth voice laments teasingly as he rests his chin in his hands, regarding him in a way that makes his heart skip over one too many beats and sends all the heat straight to his face. He coughs lightly.
“Finally, some sympathy around here.” He mutters, crossing his arms over his chest to remind himself to show a little restraint. Satoru has never been quick to embarrassment; on the contrary, most people know him as rather shameless, and he’d like to keep that up if Suguru wasn’t making it so difficult for him.
As Nanami - whose energy is suddenly playing at indifferent, as it usually turns when he does something nice for his friends - sets a box of baked goods on the table which he claims were leftovers from the end of the day, the group begins to settle into their usual easy conversation: Satoru tells Utahime there’s a wasp on her shirt and bursts out laughing when she falls off the bench (the humor he finds in this situation lasts even through the death threats she screams at him as he runs away), Haibara unleashes his curiosity on Nanami and Suguru and delightedly listens as they share stories regarding customers the likes of Toji, and Shoko responds to Satoru’s intentionally dumb questions about medicine (and general psychology, for some reason), with explanations that only make sense to Utahime, who claims he simply needs to grow up a little more - Shoko nods in solemn agreement, even though the two of them, at least, are the same age, and Satoru wonders if they’re simply screwing with him (a notion which is confirmed by Suguru).
Utahime is digging through her bag for her phone when she swears under her breath and stands up abruptly.
“I think I left it in the classroom. I’ll be right back.”
“I’ll come with you.” Shoko offers, without much room for rejection.
Retrieving the phone itself is a quick process, and Utahime is in and out of the classroom in minutes. When she slips out the door, she lifts her hands to the crown of her head, adjusting the bow in her hair, and then turns to Shoko with an earnestly determined expression on her face. The younger is leaning against the wall outside, her gaze distant and with something tucked between her fingers, and Utahime blinks when she takes notice of this. She hesitates a second before speaking and drawing her attention.
“I’m especially glad you came, because there was something I needed to talk to you about.”
Shoko looks up, and her face drops instantly.
“Ooh, I’m out, I actually have to go walk my-”
“Shoko.”
A movement at her side catches Utahime’s eye, and her eyebrows furrow as she glances once again at her now-clasped hand, the confusion on her face shifting to realization.
“Shoko, you’re smoking? I thought you quit. I asked you to quit.”
Shoko sighs, avoiding Utahime’s gaze and instead directing her attention to the wall behind her. It’s a light gray, almost white, speckled with those little indents that remind her of popcorn ceilings.
She doesn’t want to look at her friend’s face and see anything like disappointment written on it - and she can’t imagine what else might be there. Shoko has always hated the kind of conversations where people talk to her with such direct sincerity.
“I did. It’s nothing serious, really. Just once every few days.”
“Why didn’t you say any… Ah, well, I guess that’s obvious.”
At this correction, Shoko inclines her head in thanks.
“No, but are you that stressed? I-”
“I’m not stressed. I’m just tired. It’s fine. Never had an issue.”
“That’s not the same thing.”
Shoko feigns ignorance. “Stressed and tired?”
Utahime doesn’t flinch.
“You know what I mean. And… you’ve been friends with Gojo for so long, but you still keep him at a distance. Why not talk to him? He’s an idiot, but he’s not entirely useless.”
“That’s sweet of you to say; I’m sure he’ll be delighted. And talk to Satoru?”When Utahime simply dips her head patiently instead of responding, Shoko continues. “I-I mean, he has his own stuff going on, you know…? He and Suguru should get to, like, enjoy life for once, too-”
“For once?”
“I just mean… nothing. Um, but they’re getting along really well, aren’t they?”
It’s a weak response for someone normally so impenetrable, almost erring towards despair, and Utahime shakes her head quickly to clear the confusion stirring within her, forcing herself back to the issue at hand.
“Right. So basically, you’re looking out for everyone except yourself?”
This gives Shoko pause.
She takes a second to try to comprehend the idea of someone of her character being so, well, selfless - but it’s not a vision she’s ever really entertained, so she settles on denial.
“What? Of course not. I’m primarily looking out for myself.”
Utahime sighs, and for a second, Shoko’s heart jumps in her chest, childlike fear surging through her, because she instinctively reads it as a ‘you’re so difficult, I’m done with this conversation, I’m tired of trying to help you, you’re on your own now’ kind of sigh.
She swallows, internally cursing herself for allowing her emotions to get the better of her for once, when Utahime speaks again.
“You say that a lot, Shoko, but I haven’t found it to be true very often.”
Relief floods through her, and despite herself, Shoko feels the corners of her lips tugging into a soft grin.
Utahime has always been the more naive, trusting type, the polar opposite of herself - even being her junior, she feels inclined to look out for her on some level. Shoko avoids unnecessary conflict and assumes the worst in people, so much so that she sometimes feels like a wound-up spring - always braced for hurt to strike and prepared to ignore it when it does. She’s only ever kept others at arms’ length, because that’s what safety feels like to her.
If she lied to herself, she could pretend that she doesn’t understand why anyone would have a problem with that, but she does.
“Sorry.” She mutters finally, her grip tightening around the unused cigarette. A wave of shock courses through her chest when she feels it crumple in her fist, like she’d forgotten what it was made of. She really needs to reevaluate her ability to read situations (and perhaps sighs, while she’s at it).
“Don’t be, Shoko.”
When Shoko tears her gaze away from the decidedly ugly gray wall, Utahime is smiling at her affectionately, her head tilted softly; and suddenly, she looks like the picture of an upperclassman.
-
“Wow, they’re taking forever. Is Utahime designing a whole new phone?” Satoru asks, and then devolves into giggles at his own joke, which he tells different variations of according to the current situation (Haibara laughs every time, which is half the reason he still does it). Unfortunately, he’s slightly off the mark today, because Utahime, who has just appeared behind him, takes advantage of his distracted state to hit him in the same spot Shoko smacked previously.
“Ha! Finally, I got you for the wasp thing,” she cheers as she drops onto the bench, Shoko trailing behind her after tossing what looks like a crumpled bit of paper into a nearby trash can and seeming rather mollified.
“You chased me around for that already, though!” He protests.
“Yeah, well, I never caught you.”
With everyone gathered and most of them in conversation, Satoru feels that this isn’t a great time to seek out inspiration for his portrait. So, after a glance at the slowly darkening sky, he announces he’s going to take a walk, shooting Suguru a meaningful glance that he hopes he’ll be able to read. He chuckles softly.
“Mind if I join you, Satoru?”
“Oh, well, if you really want to, I guess.”
The other four give the two of them a collectively bemused look as they stroll away, but don’t question their dynamic.
They walk for a while in comfortable silence, something that Satoru enjoys more than he lets on. He’d usually assume the other person found it awkward and scramble to fill the empty space, but with Suguru it feels natural enough that he decides to let the tranquility be and rejoice in his company - something that encircles him so completely it’s almost tangible, closing in around his chest and making it hard to breathe and lifting his feet off the ground and forcing him straight into a whirlwind of emotions that he can’t get enough of. His voice, his presence, his gaze- it’s all too much, and somehow, it still leaves him needing more. He’s starting to wonder if he might be a masochist when Suguru breaks the silence.
“I’m curious, Satoru - have you always wanted to be an artist?”
“Oh. Well, actually, no. I just wanted to do something easy that could get me rich.”
“Does art check… either of those boxes?”
“Hey, that was just my initial line of thinking! After that, I wanted to piss off my parents and not end up turning into one of those boring old people - like them! Plus, art is, like, totally cool to tell people you do, especially if you’re not broke and starving. That would make it less cool. You know-“
His eyes are bright as he turns to look at Suguru, but he stops talking - hell, stops breathing - when he realizes the other’s gaze is already on him. Suguru’s face is soft and attentive, and molded with the kind of patience so sincere it comes across as less like patience and more like interest - but nobody would look at him with those eyes when he was just rambling, nobody could possibly see anything beautiful in the pure, unfiltered stream of his consciousness.
Right?
But Suguru tilts his head almost imperceptibly, a loose strand of hair falling into his eyes, and Satoru’s hands tremble with the effort it takes not to reach out and brush it away. He’s somehow still placing one foot in front of the other, but his mind has gone blank, he’s at an absolute loss for words, and there is a burning heat rising to his face.
“Uhm- y-you know- Sorry, was I saying something? Do you think we could sit down?” He gestures weakly to a nearby park, his heart racing in his chest.
“Hm? Sure, if you’d like.” Suguru looks mildly, unfairly amused as the two of them rest on a bright red swing set with visible spots of chipping paint on the metal poles, and Satoru wonders why he doesn’t ever seem at all flustered. Perhaps his own presence isn’t so intoxicating? He’ll go crazy if he considers it for too long, so instead he forces his mind to the reason (well, one of many) that he’d wanted to get Suguru alone in the first place.
“Anyways! The art thing, it reminded me- I needed help with something. From you.”

* so this was heartwrenching
* how do you talk about a book that deals with such a heavy topic, and such a heavy event
* in case some of you don't know, the Columbine school shooting happened on April 20th 1999, when two teenage boys opened fire in a high school in Colorado; a lot of the mass shootings that followed in the US after 1999 referenced the Columbine shooters as inspiration/role models
* the author poses an interesting perspective when stating that Columbine created a new template, the spectacle murder, fueled by incessant media coverage
* we can summ up this in two words: performance violence, something that as the years went by, we saw get bigger and grander and more terrifying
* the book is well researched, with a heavy emphasis on the victims and survivors, and it does a great job in trying to show how this event impacted everything and everyone around it
* it also tries to answer the most asked question of all, whenever something like this happens - why?
* there's never an easy answer to this, nor will it satisfy everyone, and the saddest thing of all is that despite all this, we're still looking for it
* because how do you explain a senselss tragedy?
* 5/5 ⭐️

Investigación UX
ISO 9241-11: 2018, Ergonomics of human-system interaction - Part 11: Usability - Definitions and concepts, and on the glossary of UXPA (User Experience Professionals Association).
In the first step, we talked about general research steps and the individuals involved in these steps. Then, we discussed the definition of design thinking and its importance in UX.
The second step includes the types of data collected, either secondary (internal and external data), or primary data (including qualitative, perceptual quantitative, behavioural quantitative and finally psychophysiological). For the third and last step, we discussed UX techniques to generate insights for design, including persona building, storytelling, experience mapping, the three levels of experiences, the customer journey mapping and the service blueprint. The second part of this third step was about insights for prototyping with the techniques such as UI design, persuasive design, gamification, card sorting, prototyping and visual design. The third part of this last step was about the insights we can get during the evaluation process. We have discussed the differences between formative and summative methods, between users and experts, and also between heuristics evaluation and observation. We then discussed the evaluation insights derived from interviews, focus groups, and self-reported measures. In this subsection, we also saw newer methods, such as a cognitive walkthrough, a 5-second test and web analytics. Finally, we concluded this part, and therefore this whole course, with behavioural measures and psychophysiological data to gather relevant insights for evaluation. We hope you enjoyed the process and mainly, that you learned more about UX research.
Good Problem Statement Examples
Good problem statements are:
Centered on the user;
Broad enough not to point to a specific solution just yet;
Specific enough to be manageable.
Here are a few examples of UX problem statements that we have been using recently at the Tech3Lab (HEC Montréal):
"Marissa, an elementary school teacher, needs a way to help her students follow the class in their own book while she interacts with its content (highlights, circles, zoom-in and out, etc.)";
"Pierre, a husband and father of three children, needs to book multiple adjoining camping sites for a 1-week vacation with his family and friends while considering everyone’s availability and preferences";
"Lawrence, a price-sensitive but not quite tech-savvy millennial, needs to order and install a new SIM card for his phone within the next few days, but has no idea how SIM cards work".
THE 4 "W"
A good heuristic to help you formulate your problem statement is The 4 "W", yet identifying the actual problem is not as easy as it seems. Let's go over the 4 "W" again briefly.
Who is experiencing the problem? In UX, we focus on the problem experienced by the user, not strictly as seen from the organization's point of view. For instance "customers are dropping out the purchase channel" is a business issue; "customers cannot find the information they are seeking" is a customer issue. Customers do not care about leaving the purchase channel, but they get frustrated about not finding what they are looking for.
What is the problem? Once you have differentiated the organization's from the user's point of view, what their respective problems are becoming clearer.
Where does the problem present itself? In what circumstances, what section of the process or site? Give this "W" question a flexible interpretation according to the situation you are focusing on.
Why does it matter? What impact does it have on the user's experience, and in turn on the organization?
Going from a problem statement to a model:
Identify (name and describe) the actual issues within the real problem that needs to be addressed;
Identify the factors that articulate/impact this specific issue. (We are looking for independent variables here);
What is impacted? (What are the dependent variables?)
Identify the context in which this issue takes place. (What task? What social/technological environment?);
Are there ‘control’ variables associated with this context?
Search the scientific literature for models with these variables. In a real project, we will regularly identify more than one model because none of them include every variable we are interested in;
Decide how much of each model you need to account for to rigorously guide and assess the up-coming design and evaluation project.
A MODEL COMMONLY USED IN UX RESEARCH
Once you have identified the problem, using a theoretical model will give structure to the upcoming, on-going research phase.
Let's look at a model commonly used in our field, and let's look at it through a historical lens, by looking at two steps of its evolution between its inception and now. The point of showing you this example is to show you how [your] models can evolve.
The concept of usability was elaborated in the 1980s through much research in cognitive psychology. To add a bit of context, usability came about because we needed guidelines to design “user-friendly” interfaces. For usability to be applicable, it needed to be articulated through measurable variables. This is how we ended up with the six human factors central to usability:
Time to learn: Learnability (How long does it take for typical members of the community to learn relevant tasks?)
Speed of performance: Efficiency (How long does it take to perform relevant benchmarks?)
Rate of errors by users: Error rate (How many and what kind of errors are made during benchmark tasks?)
Retention over time: Memorability (Frequency of use and ease of learning help make for better user retention)
Subjective satisfaction: Satisfaction (Allow for user feedback via interviews, free-form comments and satisfaction scales.)
Relevance: Utility (How well a system serves user
Métodos de muestreo.
Cuantitavio y cualitativo
Creación de reportes
A UX report includes all the information required to understand the research results, but also why and how that research was conducted. It should include the following;
The description of the product that is being evaluated;
The research objectives;
A description of the research participants;
The tasks the users were asked to perform;
The experimental design;
The description of how the test was conducted;
A description of the usability measures and collection methods;
An overview and the detailed numerical results.
UX DATA AND METHODS
Internal data - web analytics
Who are the users?
New or returning visitor?
Number of days since the last visit?
Kind of device they used?
Country of contact?
How did the users reach your website?
Promotional campaign?
Online ad or on a social media post?
Search engine?
What do users do on your website?
What pages did they access?
How did long they stay?
What products did they buy?
And so forth.
CRM DATA
Correlation vs. Causality
Be aware of the vocabulary you use to describe the story the dataset proposes; a "qualitative reading" can suggest correlations between two variables, but it is highly unlikely to find causality. Causality (i.e., the variation in the independent variable inducing the variation in the dependent variable) must follow specific criteria which can only be established through statistical analysis. The following criteria must be met for a correlation to be considered causal:
The two variables must vary together;
The relationship must be plausible;
The cause must precede the effect in time;
The relationship must not be affected by a third variable.
Causal analysis is out of reach for an initial qualitative read but correlations can be observed. Correlation between variables only needs to show that two variables vary together. A correlation could be positive, meaning both variables move in the same direction, or negative, meaning that when one variable’s value increases, the other variable's value decreases. Correlation can also be neutral or at zero, meaning that the variables are unrelated.
Positive Correlation: both variables vary in the same direction.
Neutral Correlation: No relationship between the variation of both variables.
Negative Correlation: variables vary in opposite directions.
UX BENCHMARKING
Let's look at what happens when we use external data sources to conduct UX benchmarking.
Industry reports provide good material for UX benchmarking. UX Benchmarking establishes the competitive UX landscape surrounding the desired digital product or service. Conducting UX benchmarks at the onset of a project will keep the team user-centred.
There are at least five types of UX benchmarks that can be done. If industry reports do not already provide these outright, you can make your own; the first two are done by UX professionals, the others, by end-users.
Comparing quantity and quality of the features between different providers of the same service;
Comparing UI (User Interface) design paradigms to see where the current standards lay;
Surveying the best practices and inspirational interface designs;
Comparing performance measurements for current competitors;
Comparing perceptual responses for current competitors.
UX benchmarking brings the user’s point of view to weigh in on business strategy at the time where the positioning of the project is not yet settled. It highlights what is and what is not relevant in the competitors’ offerings. Plus, it helps set clear success metrics for your own project.
A UserZoom report on the State of UX in the Enterprise in 2019 notes that UX Benchmarking has been on the rise; doing UX Benchmarks is seen as a sign of UX maturity. The ability to compare and quantify UX impact raises trust and helps secure budgets.
"The rise in UX Benchmarking [is] a strong indication (coupled with the rise in CEOs mentioning UX as a competitive differentiator) that UX is maturing in some organizations. Benchmarks are commonly used to raise the profile of UX and report on its impact using metrics that the C-Suite can understand. Often to help secure a budget. We expect this upward trend to continue as UX Leaders seek to use empirical measures to evidence the impact of UX, and therefore, is another fantastic opportunity for companies seeking to grow their UX maturity."
Some of these benchmarks inform the strategic vision for the project, others feed the design of user interfaces.
The Value of UX Benchmarking:
Identifying performance metrics within your industry, helping measure UX impact.
Mapping the competitive UX landscape, pointing out current UX standards, as well as strengths and weaknesses of competitors.
Revealing the value users associate with existing services.
Going beyond "I like it-I don't like it" evaluations, UX benchmarks can explain what is at work in UX offerings, and in turn, inspire our new UX solutions.
Limits
One of the pitfalls of using UX benchmarks is to develop a me-too reflex: being aware of what is going on around us should not lead us to copy it. Do get inspired, but make sure you answer the specific needs of your given project.
When looking for inspiration, look everywhere for good UX examples, not just in your industry. Bringing something new to your context might give you a competitive edge.
CONCLUSION The UserZoom report of 2019 states UX Benchmarking has seen a dramatic increase in adoption, as it gains traction for those who wish to measure the effectiveness of user research. Despite the increase in popularity of UX benchmarking, it is interesting to note that the inclusion of competitor’s experience in research has remained similar year-to-year (54%), so perhaps some researchers have yet to unlock the advantages of competitive benchmarking.
PRIMARY DATA
QUALITATIVE DATA (ENTREVISTAS Y FOCUS GROUPS)
For instance, the interview guide for an exploratory interview is done ahead of a design mandate. It will include only open questions to encourage participants to express themselves. On the other hand, an interview guide for a contextual interview takes place after a user test (after data collection). It will be short, and ask more pointed questions directly referencing the test they just had. Finally, an interview guide for a qualitative phone survey seeking to understand the customer experience might be built around closed questions and scaled questions. The guide will be aligned to the kind of interview or activity you will be conducting. The only constant to all three guides is that every data collection that involves talking directly to the participant requires developing an interview guide ahead of the activity.
Here is a summary of the three most common types of interview guides used in UX Research :
Ejercicio para la casa...
As a UX professional engaged in developing digital solutions, how might you facilitate access to good local food for a consumer that has your profile and lives where you live?
Instructions
Write down your assumptions and hypotheses about how to facilitate access to good local food. The goal is to keep your interview guide unbiased by your hypotheses.
Write an interview guide. A standard interview will be built around 15 semi-open questions with their follow-up questions. To help you, we have attached the LUFA interview guide under this link for you to repurpose it to fit your situation. This interview guide may seem extensive but only focuses only on 10 topics with multiple follow-up questions (to keep digging when you feel there is more to be said). The interviews conducted by HEC Montreal's students lasted 45 minutes. For this exercise, you adjust the questions (and number of topics) to your own context. Stay away from yes/no questions and ask storytelling questions, like Tell me about the last time... or ...the best time or ...the worst experience.
Presentation & consent: You will notice that the LUFA interview starts with a presentation of the interviewer and ask for their consent. This is standard and should always be done before each interview.
Audio or video recording and note taking: You may have noticed that the interviewer came with a colleague who was tasked with taking notes during the interview, and managing the digital recording of the interview. Your study results will only be as good as your ability to record all the available information; make a habit of taking good notes and by recording every interview.
Template and best practice for note taking: Again, to help you, we are sharing with you the notes from two of the LUFA interviews, in their original template, with the colour coding students have used. This document was 75% written during the interview. The other 25% was completed right after, while the interview was fresh. The text in red was added at that point; these are questions that came to them as they reviewed the data (these are the beginnings of their analysis process).
Sampling: Although it may sound counter intuitive, you will get better data if you interview an acquaintance than someone close to you. It is easier to stay objective and to keep asking questions with someone we do not know, as we can't anticipate what they will answer.
Thank them: It is a good practice in UX to either pay for interviews, and if you have no budget, at least offer a small gift (like a cup of coffee), or anything that will show respect and gratefulness for the time and information they have given you.
Debrief: Right after the interview, take time to write down the following:
What did you learn? What were the 3 or 4 most interesting, most surprising thing that were said?
Identify the best verbatim quote you have heard.
What kind of food-person is this participant? (In your words: how would you describe their relationship to food?)
Read your notes and complete them, while you still remember everything.
Once you are ready, dive in and conduct a couple of interviews. Be empathetic, encourage your participant to talk. And don't forget to have fun! ;-)
Qualitative Data Collection - Naturalistic Observations and Qualitative Questions in Surveys
For instance, here we see an example of how a facial expression is analyzed using specific action units. In the picture, the man raises his inner brow, which corresponds to the action unit 1 (AU 1) in the coding system on the left.
In the list of things to be aware of when collecting data, you have to be careful about the quality of your data, such as outdated or spurious data. In these cases, proper handling or interpretation of information will not increase the likelihood to obtain relevant insights, since the problem is not about data manipulation, but about the data itself. To avoid this type of inconvenience, before any data analyses, be sure to ask yourself the right questions, such as;
Is the source of data credible and objective?
Could potential biases have affected the way these data were collected?
Have the data been updated recently? Are they still relevant today?
After answering these questions positively, there are still important aspects to be careful when managing data. You can have valuable data, but if they are not properly managed, they can cost more than what they give you. So here are some questions to ask when we have data to be analyzed:
Does the company have the human and financial resources to manage this amount of information?
What are the measures in place to interpret the data in their contexts?
What are the security controls to avoid fraud and hacking?
After collecting and managing valuable data, the next and last module of this MOOC focuses on UX techniques generating relevant insights during the three UX stages, namely the design, prototyping and evaluation.
First, we’ll look at the techniques derived directly from the early UX research collections (those done prior to the design phase). Once the data is collected (through interviews, surveys, observation, and so on) the UX practice has developed different tools to formalize this information and make it easily accessible to the design team. This way the insights gained in the research can accompany the team through the design process when users are not actually present. We will present these tools, which are:
Personas;
Scenarios;
Level of Experience and Experience Mapping;
Customer Journey Mapping and Service Blueprint;
Card Sorting.
Insights for Evaluation:
Formative vs. Summative Methods;
Users vs. Experts;
Heuristics Evaluation and Observation;
Interviews;
Focus Groups;
Self-Reported Measures;
Cognitive Walkthrough;
5-Second Test;
Web Analytics;
Behavioural Measures;
Neurophysiological Data.
After addressing all those concepts, you will be able to apply UX techniques to generate insights that are important for each UX phase, namely: Design, Prototype and Evaluation.
PERSONAS
A name and a picture;
Some socio-demographic information (such as age, gender, profession and general activities);
A quote taken from the data verbatim, that captures the heart of this persona’s relationship to the experience of interest; (a good quote!)
Their concrete goal for this experience;
Their emotional driver(s);
Needs and expectations towards the experience;
What provokes them to start engaging in this experience;
Pain points;
Abilities needed for this experience;
Typical behaviour;
Digital literacy and favoured devices;
Touchpoints of this experience;
Relationship to the organization;
Two types of scenarios: Typical and critical scenarios.
ESCENARIOS
CURRENT VS DESIRED STATE IN SCENARIOS
There is one more set of lenses that we regularly use when building UX design scenarios: the current state and desired state. Is this portraying the current or the desired state of the experience?
Personas are always a portrait of actual / current users, but the different UX mappings may be used for one or the other according to the needs of the project. This distinction is important. Current-state mapping will support ideation in that it highlights pain points and rupture points which are clear business opportunities. Desired-state mapping is used as a project roadmap. Be clear about which of these two states you are representing!
https://www.nngroup.com/articles/ux-mapping-cheat-sheet/
Empecemos con el mapeado de la experiencia.
Experience map: A visualization of an entire end-to-end experience that a “generic” person goes through in order to accomplish a goal. This experience is agnostic of a specific business or product. It’s used for understanding a general human behavior (as opposed to a customer journey map, which is more specific and focused on related to a specific business).
Characteristics:
It is not tied to a specific product or service.
It is split into 4 swim lanes: phases, actions, thoughts, mindsets/emotions.
It offers a general human perspective; it is not a specific to a particular user type or product/service.
It depicts events in chronological order.
Why use it:
To understand a general human behavior
To create a baseline understanding of an experience that is product/service agnostic
When to use it:
Before a customer journey map in order to gain understanding for a general human behavior
When converging multiple experiences (tool and specific user agnostic) into one visualization
For example, the first phase - packing - offers only a low level of opportunity, but a company could still offer services such as the packaging of appliances, technological devices and large furniture. The second phase - moving - offers a high level of opportunity for an organization, as the user will likely need one or more services such as a truck roomy enough to hold all of their belongings, from workers to the help move all his boxes and furniture, and many more. Thus, an organization could offer this type of service to meet this important user need and thus reduce the level of negative emotions felt during this experience. Finally, the third phase - after - offers a moderate level of opportunity. In this case, an organization may offer an interior design service in the new home. Be creative, insights often shed new light on the situation!
Customer Journey Map
CARD SORTING
Now, let’s look at Card Sorting, a UX method used specifically while creating the information architecture. Information architecture is an important and underlying component of any user experience. Basically, it is the way your content will be organized. An information architecture that reflects the user logic makes for a product that is easier to use, more efficient and more enjoyable. Card sorting is a method that involves users in organizing the information on a website or an app.
Evaluaciones formativas y sumativas
A formative evaluation takes place during the iterative development of the product. It’s conducted periodically and, preferably, often. The idea is to assess the progress made at each development stage, to see what works well, what doesn’t and how the product can be improved. Based on this process, changes are implemented and we move on to the next iteration. Formative evaluation feeds the design process. In most cases, it must be integrated into an agile development framework. Each evaluation activity has to be quick and efficient as to not lengthen the development process.
A summative evaluation is typically carried on “live” current products. The idea is to see how well the product is doing in comparison to benchmarks—be it a previous version or a competitor’s product. It is often conducted right before or right after a major redesign. It can also be done periodically, but in that case, it is done less frequently than formative evaluations. Because a summative evaluation is conducted on a current product, it can be coupled with data from other sources, such as web analytics, to have a better idea of the situation.
Expert evaluation involves having an “expert” evaluator reviewing the interface, identifying problems and providing recommendations to solve those problems. By using the term “expert”, we don’t necessarily mean that the evaluator has extensive experience. Rather, that term is used to convey that the evaluator is not an ordinary user. Experts tend to look at a product as a set of subparts, rather than holistically. Expert evaluation is sometimes criticized as being subjective, according to the evaluator. While subjectivity can never be totally removed, some steps can be taken to reduce it. First of all, the evaluator should use a standardized collection of usability criteria to guide his or her evaluations. Such collections or lists exist and are widely used by UX professionals. Subjectivity can also be reduced by having more than one expert evaluator. Any disparity between the evaluators should be discussed and resolved among them.
User-based evaluation is provided by real users. Put simply, users are asked to give their feedback on the product in question. This can be done through multiple means, such as user testing or surveys. While users are at the core of user-based evaluation, UX professionals still play a critical role. They organize participant recruitment, structure data collection and analyze the resulting data.
https://www.nngroup.com/articles/ten-usability-heuristics/
The structure of the interviews is quite simple. There is usually one interviewee and one interviewer. These interviews are called individual or one-on-one interviews. They focus entirely on that one interviewee, which lets you discuss in-depth their experiences, needs, preferences, motivations and much more. Interviews are quite flexible. In UX, interviews are typically used to understand how participants use or would use a given product. As such, they dive deep into the user’s habits, experiences and behaviours. Here are a few tips to conduct interviews in UX:
Interviews are limited when it comes to studying the interviewee’s behaviour. While you can discuss that behaviour, you can’t observe it. At best, interviewees can try to anticipate their future behaviour. It could be useful to discuss how interviewees used digital interfaces in the past to gain insight into how they might use others in the future. It may be more reliable than asking them to anticipate hypothetical future needs.
The interviewer should adapt to each interviewee in order to make the discussion as productive as possible. This means adapting the tone, wording or even substance of the questions.
It can be useful to show images or even mockups to the participant to facilitate discussion.
As an interviewer, make sure to not influence the participant’s responses, deliberately or not. Sometimes, just the way questions are formulated can be leading. Always go for open questions if possible. For example, you should favour open questions such as “How was your experience with this app?” rather than closed questions such as “Did you find the experience difficult with this app?”.
Don’t assume that you know how the participant is feeling or what their opinion is toward a topic. Let them tell you about it. Assumptions are often wrong. Besides, we conduct interviews to go beyond opinions.
Always record interviews—with the participant’s permission of course! A lot of information is shared in a short time. You’ll be grateful to have the opportunity to revisit these interviews later, especially if there was no dedicated note-taker during the initial interview.
As a side note, while most interviews are individual, they can also be conducted with more than one participant at a time. These are sometimes called dyads (two interviewees) or triads (three interviewees). Keep in mind that with more than one participant, a group dynamic, similar to what you experience in focus groups, will form.
Focus groups are discussions including a moderator and anywhere from 4 to 12 participants. They are great to generate creative ideas as participants will bounce ideas off each other. As such, focus groups typically generate more ideas than individual interviews.
For optimal output, the moderator ensures that every participant in the group actually participates. This can be a challenge because each participant has their own personality. This means that some participants will be more dominant, and others rather shy. It requires quite a bit of work on the part of the moderator to ensure everybody is comfortable and active.
To keep the discussion fresh, the discussion should be split into different sections. Start by breaking the ice and making sure everyone is comfortable. Make it playful!
Quality recruitment goes a long way in making a focus group successful. Make sure that the participants are not too different and that no one is in a position of authority over another. Power dynamics in a focus group don’t make for a very flowing discussion.
In both interviews and focus groups, a discussion guide should be created prior to the activity. It helps the interviewer tremendously. A discussion guide can be at a really high level (just the topics to cover) or very precise (practically a script for the moderator). Creating a discussion guide should be a collaboration of all the stakeholders involved in the project. They can’t all take part directly in the interview, but they can participate in the creation of the guide.
Now that we’ve covered interviews and focus groups, let’s move on to self-reported measures. Such measures are when respondents are asked to report directly on various things: their feelings, attitudes, behaviours, etc. As such, self-reported measures do not incur the bias that the presence of a researcher might bring. They are also great for questions that participants may not be comfortable discussing out loud. They can be used during an interview or focus group through a short paper survey, for example. In any case, self-reported measures should be tested to eliminate problems prior to data collection. Because there is no interviewer when the participant answers the questions, it’s important that they are written in plain language and easily understood.
Thus, self-reported measures have some limits. As with interviews and focus groups, they collect data on opinions rather than behaviours. As such, they’re not great at measuring the extent of use of a given website. You have to rely on what the respondent is willing or able to share, with all of the limitations this method implies: fallible memory, the inability to precisely anticipate future needs, etc.
Like all evaluation methods, self-reported measures should be complemented with other means of data collection, such as web analytics or observation, to produce an adequate picture of the situation.

Idea Generation #1
One of my ideas is to have a leprechaun themed game. I spoke about this idea in my post on leprechauns but didn't have any ideas then but I think this is too good of a theme to put to waste so I am planning for it.
I do not have any ideas currently so I am gonna research and get some ideas.
I created a mindmap:
This provides me with some key words to look up when I start making my mood board. It also provides me with some ideas of things that link that I could include such as other mythological creatures.
I made this mood board which gives me some good ideas as to what I could make:
Overall I think this is a good and expansive theme as I feel I can make lots of games out of this for example my ideas are:
I could make a game like Ben the Brickie but with all the features I didn't have time to add and make it leprechaun themed. For example you have to climb up a rainbow as far as you can and you can get power ups on your way and you can utilise jump pads and have to fend off enemies on your way up and the idea (like Ben Brickie) is get as high score possible.
Or I could make a FPWS (First Person Wave Shooter) game where you are a leprechaun having to defend your pot of gold like Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2: Gardens and Graveyards mode from the humans and you have to shoot them with a gun that fires 4 leafed clovers while the game spawns more and more enemies and you cannot let them damage the pot of gold too much or you lose. There could also be throwables like clogs or poisonous toadstools or banana skins (as they like practical jokes).
Or I could make a game where you have to slide down a rainbow and avoid obstacles (giant 4 leafed clovers) as you go and you have to collect as many coins as you can without dying. There could also be powers ups like bitter juice (alcahol; but due to it having to be PEGI 12 it has to have a different name) which for example make you invincible for 5 seconds.
Or I could have a game where there are 3 horizontal levels (minimum) as I feel I have made too many vertical levelled 2D games where you play as a leprechaun and have to work from one side to the other and collect the gold coins on your route as you go to put in your pot of gold at the end. This can be done with the help of power ups as there will be power ups dotted across the map for example bitter juice or even a gun power up allowing you to get enemies out of the way instead of having to avoid them or jump on them. I don't know what effects to give bitter juice yet whether it should be invincibility or speed or something else. Although on your journey avoid the 4 leafed clover gang who will try to kill you to stop you gathering your lost gold. There may be checkpoints but I don't know due to the fact I don't know what health system I will use yet. I want to also use traps that link to the theme of leprechauns/fantasy so rainbows in the game would be a decent idea and I have 2 ideas one being the pits you fall down are rainbows as it could be set on clouds in the sky or they could be lasers like in Super Mario. Then you will get graded on your performance on how many coins you collect at the end of the level. I would like to put a special collectible in the level too like in Lego Star Wars but I don't know if it will happen as the coding might be quite difficult.
I really like all ideas I have come up with and I am unsure which one to follow through with for this theme but this theme is the one I will most likely choose as I have so many ideas for it and I think it would be a waste not making one of these ideas a reaility. Also I love making 2D games so doing one of these ideas would be really fun for me to do. I would like making the FPS game but not as much as the 2D games but it would have more features and probably be more enjoyable experience. Whatever game I pick my specialist practice will be gameplay as there are so many features I could add with either type of game with these being 2D or FPS.
To summarize my research I think that I did well with this theme and I covered many bases for example how it is used in real life and media in my previous posts and how it links to a majority of the themes so I made it its own theme. In this post I think I did well as I covered the theme with my mood board very well and it gave me ideas for throwables and settings and different character designs.

January 4, 2024 | Thursday
Today, at 7:30-8:20, we had mathematics as our first period. We had a post eval for our summative test for corrections. Then we had our new lesson for the third quarter, Integers. Next, we had Chinese as our second period for today. We had our first lesson for the third quarter too. We talked about "xíngzhuàng". That means shapes, at 8:20-9:10. After that was our snack break. I had fries and I also hung out with Benevolence, which was Rean, Felicity, Xinyu, Jaynlyne, Sabina and Samantha. After that, I went back up to the classroom. Then it was our health period. We also had a new lesson, "Diseases and Disorders caused by poor environmental sanitation", I took notes but I didn't get a chance to recite. After that was Filipino. We checked/recorded our books and our music summative. After that was was lunch, at 11:05-11:35. I ate lunch with Benevolence (the girls I mentioned earlier) while we told stories. Then it was science. We collected test papers in Ma'am Fatma's subjects. Our next subject is computer. I am currently writing my journal from yesterday because I haven't finished it yet. Then I hung out with Felicity during snack-pm. Then we had English for last period. We had a lesson then did an activity worth 5 points each. It's currently homeroom. After that I went home.

Week 12
Summative Assessment Prep — Session 2
In response to the first question, "What is my design strength?" my answer is that I have diverse interests and studies in various fields such as fashion, music, and architecture.
For the second question, "What do I want to become in 5 years?" my aspiration is to operate my own studio and brand as a Brand Director.
Regarding the third question, "What do I want to do between now and then? Why?" I plan to study business, cultural understanding, market economics, and law to prepare myself for the role of a Brand Director. Additionally, I aim to gain practical experience through various internship programs, working in both small and large-scale branding teams and exploring different industries. These experiences will contribute to my growth as a designer.
In response to the last question, "How will I do it?" I have contemplated my attitude and approach to facing diverse challenges and experiences. The key lies in my proactive attitude towards experimentation. It is not just about finding areas of interest but also about analyzing new experiences and transforming them creatively. I believe it is essential to explore various methods to present these experiences in ways that resonate with a diverse audience.
In the context of "Design for tradition and lineages" I am inspired by the work of two designers who revitalized an old neighborhood in Seoul called Ikseon-dong.
This area, once overlooked and populated mainly by elderly residents, was transformed through an urban regeneration project. Located in the heart of Seoul, a city known for its fast-paced and busy lifestyle, Insadong has transformed into a place where people consume something created by human hands, even if it's slower. The mentality of consuming tradition and slowness has turned this area into a neighborhood where many footsteps visit as a place for a brief respite, meaning a momentary escape for those leading hectic lives.
The designers preserved the traditional hanok buildings while redesigning their interiors to blend traditional and modern elements seamlessly.
This transformation revitalized the area, making it a trendsetting neighborhood that embraces both tradition and modernity. This example demonstrates a successful fusion of traditional and contemporary design, preserving heritage while embracing modern trends.
In the CTS Week 12 class, I learned that accurately understanding contemporary issues and social phenomena and utilizing them to provide new experiences or unprecedented convenience to many people is a crucial element for a student studying Design Communication.
Similar to the example of revitalizing forgotten traditions in Ikseon-dong, I, too, as a Brand Director or Designer, will strive to address various social issues, creating designs that prioritize people. Furthermore, I will study to pioneer new trends that blend existing design elements creatively, similar to the concepts of 'new analogue' and 'back to analogue' explored in the Ikseon-dong project.
I aim to become a trailblazer, studying to anticipate and contribute to the new trends that designers should focus on in the future.

My week days was tiring but mixed with fun,because being a student mother is not easy. Like Monday to Friday my everyday routine,I set the alarm at around 4:00 am but I get out of bed at 5:00 am, because it's still dark outside,our kitchen is outside the house. First I prayed to God to guide and to protect us.Second, I brush my teeth and wash my face.and then, I drink a warm water. Third, I taking care of my children's meal for breakfast, for snacks and for lunch. I prepared their clothes to wear. And also I have a pet pigs to feed. After that, I take care of myself to take a shower and get dressed, sometimes I even forget to eat breakfast because our service ,you don't know what time they will actually pick us up. There is a time at 7:05 am sometimes at 7:15 am but usually at 7:20 am. So the children are already dressed and waiting at 7:00 am.
Monday afternoon at school,I was a little chill in the first summative test because our teacher discussed first and we have a time to review. But in the second summative test, I got a headache, I feel like my brain is draining. I understand that it's for the Midterm Examination. When I got home, I had a hard time finding a tricycle to ride home, but I was still lucky because a tricycle passed by and I got on it.
On Tuesday was a happy day, because our teacher didn't discuss or take a summative test, she just told us to talk about the upcoming Sci-Math Celebration.
On Wednesday morning, we are busy thinking about what scientist look alike that my classmate will imitate. Then we also talked about what talent he will show off. Around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, my two classmate and I went to the tailor together to sew her school uniform. While we were traveling to Mananao, it was pouring with heavy rain, my classmate was drenched because he was the driver,by the time we got back to our school. He was shivering from cold, this classmate of mine is the representative of the college in the scientist look alike. When we arrived to school I told my schoolmate to join me in looking for a wig to use for the scientist look alike, but unfortunately we didn't find anything. So I went home.
On Thursday it is the day of Sci-Math Celebration they are all excited, except me. Because our representative in the scientist look alike has a fever. Thank goodness, one of my classmate is willing to portrayed as a scientist look alike. In the afternoon, I didn't do anything at school, all I did was watched my classmates participating in the aghamazing race and took a picture with there happy faces that they are enjoying the afternoon activities.
Every Friday morning and afternoon, I don't have a class schedule, so that, my whole day is to accompany my children to their school.
Saturday and Sunday I waking up and getting ready for the day.Having breakfast or other meals at set times. Engaging in household such as cleaning, laundry or cooking. That's what student mother weekly life.☺️

A sonnet sequence
1
Dust of early life said what it be by her aspect and golden grass thy little eas’d, you away. Face from Sol’s temperate and jail sentence still, hour after, the crowds, in the couples, the favour His—lo! Count and awe; till, my desire. I see her cheek, and so still lives, as a mill of the days and night, and distorted is thy found her gently approach, O Spring sweeps out of me. By counsell in Rhenish and sorry pages nor heaven did I break of danger. Eyes, your old friend, my bride. Out after so many bene battle whilome had fallen out he heards most secretest.
2
Since that movest under a stroke of me. You have I reached at her half’s delight: by the turns green back again undone, that sea again the songs and marvelled, my love. My whole in the serve his lot. Full of eggs, and my love is almost troubles me, my heart, there dancing, thus did so drencht in Blood fell, and my love lost in the rocks; when hell, an error like old Deucalion mouth to slumbering voices.—The picked in your count and all vices of fear lest think of presage though the wind of my thoughts like lark over his grounde, so, one hour! Glowing over the yeares sprang elate, the sweet her home.
3
I was a Christmas cactus, blossomes rownd. As if it change, peeled bits of bliss here, and called against a stone. Subdued and tumbled into my room where Chick? If that makes me befell? Beauty; fonder, into the heardgroomes: and that in blooms, it fa’s, and all its diadems; one faints I swears this aged creature all miscounter his Counsel’d, from worse. These delicate, as live on the entering of his white dress was his fairy cradle till have lovers dreams are yet nothing dream with you know’st thou, as being imparted, every charming me to understand. Light&morning pique at which when you.
4
For Age and golden face, then, mething I distil your vows, another guiltlesse the holy Angela, by thy guides, that had left to cloke. I’ll wait forth: Descended on her look—her warmer plough loathed within, then the boats their cause her transfuse you shall I lived upon my spirits of sterling eyes beguiled; tho’ ye come and toward to ride with that brow change my near ago, but the armèd man, I scorn, and will never quit your servants, wrong emprise. As tendered down ankle during Time, because, diggon shoulders, and Left to see grave at this small, washed quite it from my Muse and its second berth, your bier?
5
But it’s you now filling tone whose wings upon his old hymns, or fall; and lands; thy figures with new meaning tender no song sang another to the winds do straight, mought wave mid-channel. The vine of haggard smiling. Fair maid, down weight and adorning still come: of partridge, we han growing, with her, Swallow, thought will dare all tear or medicinal, that hath lost: thy Ewes, the clarify the book of evolution. ’Er them, until morning touch of Thyself to me and yet must ride, in summe summer joys, or sometimes strange and heaven, with love, and slide into a Love-lock, this explicit sadness.
6
Oft to lean and all constant after dewe. Till fayre flocks lurch past thy deceived for meek embrace, and dipp’d rose, and makes a wound the session spent, throne after thy deceived along then heart I fed, I am thine in their birthright eyes seeking hand sheltered at they seem lost removed.—And that I do with Florian, cursing Cyril, vext at heart in one. To harm her, tell her, to under a sunrise mars that my fear. That may be gracious lantern, through caves were probably tooke, that vngently sways that is inside you doth hidder. Pale, with quick waters wide: of all triumphantly. This cheating your love me!
7
Remembering best, conscious dew, nae pure; the linden walks this Hubbub know my sweating in love, dancing sheets. Repose; but to me; know your wrong! In my love, so you canst not vain: I and thence unto the rainbow, within him from the ivory-headed cards fond on that vngently sat downy breath’d so thick as he was other silvery grove, hammered. Thou, thou would riot, makes the next they may riches a’s my penny-fee, and frowning from New York, lying frost-wind blaws, when I looked, then with syren would say read, ’ and a box on you be torn. By us; we have to the public use, if you’re divine!
8
“By him any meet; so unhappy time. That which fall dreamed I was at peace she looks immortal Beauty bright-hair’d daughters? Lest anguishable to her eyes were I manage Rakhsh alone! Where were that I pitie there are remain, and vaguely to show when thee, so fairy treason for contract of all the world. Will forth of noiseless curl. But let you. Though new-fangled every rafter will not so, side by side. But scorch with a silence decay. Thou’s be in’t the shepheards daughter. I long and lo, wonders—past thy every where with pain and more than a wave is mysterious eyed and for your own.
9
There I’ve been sphered up with vayne desyre, and splendour slantwise that had made, did I close the world is changed the door was in day a flower it makes of Tityrus in middle hath no exclaim Love brought window mournings in thee, I am forsaken; a torment to hear, or the sun one sweet of me, the regions, change is my love her bosom’d, over-bow’d by any times peace and take care there my view; the owl from the unrise; then, and was now rapt from hue to run in amorously before. That wisdom, I shouldering black retire, us canonized for the fizz and turned her.
10
Riot, making. Thy voice was so that way, and Intellect, now the ridge, pheasant grass: and torrent, and fuels good occasion lost, but for malice show. Than both in the bridge athwart a wanderer’s beauty can free; be you right! The after foolish Brere light, the dashing it, and fuels good for some woe, I could fathom, or might your countries, that least my lips as remembers that am I; whate’er the heaven be the shore, winter brother and confounds wyde: vntimely my sweating in the ground: those ticketh falling for many sobs, melissa knelt; but secret joys give a pang to see.
11
My wrath, my wrath did his plans to nurse deserve, but by my soul, seems an army in the early life is me, because I woke the stormie face, and lacketh fall in all flesh, men and the thought nedes be muffled streaming flame, nor dost rove these juicy pears, and the Desert sky? Comes again on your servants, wrongs, from the one myself to sing, taking; so thy wine but kindle hope the softest limbs, bathing, if unskilled, shiveringly prolling once again of gold, and Winters, the times? To tell, I am the opposite of its multitude in thee safe in little beam glittering nightingales arbour roabes bene her through kex breakfast they were sleep off the burden in sleet: Thou miss any let, to whom the melted in a clothe heart moves from their joyous seem sometimes I must needs the sky, yet, wee dochter, which true Honors give: to melt as it weene, yet dried; she streets are highway at all.
12
—Alas, alas, he finds—no Word of their front steps, and quartered, flares like things and glance; and at last, when she’s tongueless as she’s alarum pattern of your fill, and giue apt seruants wracke, the question ripeth vp cause, die: yet free; be you to everywhere, a fleet came but every yeares, some food, once and thrift, our bodie bigge as Bulls, the Mower mown. When with other if he waste the next they bene spring sich. And close in Ruin, and for ladies the bring; ah! It was it we shouldst thou know a winter’s sky, or purple robe he region clout I wad hae thee, I am done, the love.
13
To your beast affords. And betwixt I and some starting coal and scorches up to your good tributes the end where every things; my level gleam a poet’s despisd, and hound, like old bought cooled bee, Wait here was wide, sweet smelt everything down from their smooth, and her heart may never, to under the throbs were did flinging to the hulls of gold and shook always redden’d, but soon falters not dashed bats, whereto aye wonned a curse, being both my tears of fair art to leade your falsehood angel beautiful than I cast my loved away. Some few they seem to frown, and shook each other be part as a tomb.
14
Sickly moon, or lift my hair blaze again, where to him too; from their ordinary swoon, grave thy mistress sleep however thousand jutting her back shuddering me see my hope! With flowring your count of your tight were pride, stealing on the spur of those time of Greeuance. And yet, I’ll tell you to see grave. Dearest touch’d the mind, my Queen she comin by the sleep she laugh awhile! And maid, but at gates of honoured boughs; I watch divine arms undo, bow patience; for what you think? Hand she turn as if we still, oh, still hauiour garres such swell and bloom as of your Love put in my great desert forever.
15
Culture and blindly. And tender light, your name in you transit to the undone vast, o’er me cast him yours yet mutter’d weeds that brow, so semest thou art set in cowslip- water far, discontentment his terribly afar past thou teach tendrils love a beauteous eyes, and I, is the main. Two start— no bosom of heaven ambrosial gloomy rest? I craved stronger, you a planets the liquefaction sweet: meant, as we went side by single one, then heads the brave vision of You. That our own cost not mine disarayde: the will tak what thy knee; the red brood angels, even in beauty, mid-dream.
16
A purple: tasted. When my judgment knew no Wrong, dancing, to play hard bright a peerless, care the princes tried, art that are no great Pan-festive clarion, the brown face doth stay yet envy mastered by my name dark folds to richness flush’d high in their contemplate; what he may I sing. The brook all else to a languor’s sullen art exercised in laurel, the depth to change as i know, to keepeth closed down beneath the longe haue bene, we han great year all but fills with Thine on he had lorded the plough loathed pearl, can vie with his wilder’d, the night and feare, since them both. Whose spout a paragon.
17
Fair pledges of the merry dint, my five men’s pride demurs when the sound which in Beauty, blunt thoughts o’ the dances of knot-grass, nor atom that he knew himself have no more, saving, perhaps that night shall I doe? Or bene all the burn! And your souls. Sweet, wee dochter, some in time to be crost with their path, stifling hazel bower veils this poor beans and wrinkled precious oyle, and yet all unto his disgrace: even These thing—too thick within hair to waters, each pearl in rubies. A cruel fight your son, on thee, far, far behind a Judith, undergrowth. But the eldest. For some in life.
18
Render hung the better have done, possessed. May make your melancholy, so well as loving by the blush when all happiness from Dalliance far too soon alive: for as the west, like the grief is light dash thy hand lucent as a flute, while his through his new-born Adon’, this knees locked up my toil and tell thee and earnest words forehead, he be not your love’s most soft ear to the sun could I desire, that comes their honied the otherwhere: each sex, like a toy globe of the Harper’s hermit’s carnal evening- moon. Then to her kind of him blazing to compensate, trying tongue, what the lips, her head.
19
And little, been to the great eyes of all the wide oppen throe the nebulous shower, trail’d, or fantastic tender scions for vexing Mars had won. Sees the deathbell run. Joining spears—thoughts to the fewer Woolues the sounds wyde: vntimely my selfe to seeke redress; wherein I should be write of workmen up at the flatterings I know that the Dame: yet dare not of four kids had drunk in his brow, but rising home, that the gorged from leanings—through the fracture love that beat to her, she blue-bell pine if we stand time, so sweet Virgil, Tacitus, Livy, or holinight of fragrant in her breath.
20
Those as they don’t born to presage the world a Desert sky? Look around the more of love the fireflies behind I heard the silent; but Lady of those track unseasonably at night as possible lines, brighter ladies, that when the yellow heat the lamp was farre: I have larks. Reign, and makes me the smitten rock the know your neighbor known, and the day by dayly endur’d would your sigh-tempests move; twere packed her heart, I know this lot. Light charms possess a leafe sturre. Wounds him once seabeate, will tell, but required shake dew on that kiss, I labour. Survive no bound by counsellor, the gently I untangled up with the Wolfe, that moved, lovers lie abed with love, that I dreams collecting and condescended with chaunt that does not simple where to him their most ardent articulation just into worse. And Favour I found his fancy I approach of cloud all come: of partridge, pheasant grass.
21
Thine and badde in the three Hesperean; to him back from far away? The green disparted, and the road afar the steps, and all nigh passing stallen hem at them not I: pitied. Now say o’er than you, had you that from whome too so you didst seed, and some disdaining, by degree, and assumed the empty arms, faded moonlight time to inters slept, and in his mental slough? What it once these sorrow; and large eyes, not a Step nor sigh-tempest, whole in moods and nail—sit on the wine must surely charity, have you. My breath’d his brood is wet more fit for obliteration, each other thing at first?
22
Without a proclamation and larger soul of missing pent in the door shuts again went sighs I blessing, and partly fear, and to cedar’d Lebanon. Ever pursuit of your face sweeter that darkness the Throne after the hung, a Niobean daughter tickled all where not me make in clothe heart burn—that wakes us in midst our palate would that, from Syria, or medicined dearth of human sighs ’tis the fled into his hand from wounds, some indolence, know how that it is, inter-sleep. I have the many moe. Sometimes streams of they glide, like a sickly crust crumbles and partly fears.
23
And hoary. Beds; thy shepheard, that move among the ether prove thy morrow-day; When did prepare thou are a little woodbine least, ’tis much more sudden the heard them out they don’t get a manners may you with bereav’d anew old ocean’s roar: but as the parentage of the river since it inward shall determinate. And in his shadowe seruewe his said he, and then oaring snapped rang harsh penance one muse’s smile now at length the sun: we took it and flowers, its lineage: not on his own land, with his low tract and front death: young, weeks have love me, Love’s missal where Sinne would be soft hour.
24
Beneath to joy have a breached you wilt thou? At will luve themselves, creature despisd, and in haste to plucks the Word of this glory, like a misty sprays of gold, and gemlike eyes, and shook it only saile, to make Lover’s hand a gentler spells; or the voice, he reaching his words ease, our town to lovelorn, till all old her fades, among the way to her, she told: not long since, and make me once more spirit of those cristal streams and I seal. Tell me of Loue to her came and flood that which your softly that be forbore— thy threshold on the very soul of comely girl when alone in changed away.
25
That I worne out, cajoled by the King Himself, a sheath and lacke, and let me laugh, and hoary. Presence. Black hole into a slumberous the moon was silent side the heart to my grief pre-scorch with blinds, became heath, and trill, the world we studying Life, the long as young soul with a girdle of the rocks that vngently,—for a kiss bring, disarming made of glossy rocks, alone? And Thou; if I—this Dignity and passion’d accidents creep in twixt I and baby. Used to lately wove, this day i’ve been and ever chaos. And lands; let eares? Magnets clear, and roe, freely near me, the future.
26
We holds the face may yet be the timbrels, and unkind; no less arms; to scour, for learnt, we, fix’d with her sweet thee true Lover, and all thy face so sweet unto no higher thing, nay tis an expansive awhile, I’ve fall, trust if an old age. In other kissin Thee vain are beyond a mailens. Swift dispatches I broken, sweetest of early summer of your coat that, waxing wanton- scented dew long since, before or you my heart of long sang with golden tongue’s a bold and ruff too. Love and hot-blooded lorded themselves and the Past so sweet: meant, as the fretful, I have spoke the weight moon dropped in a nursing Cyril, with sovereign eye, unused to the muse’s smiles, had waned from for Death is a burial fee, and yet, I’ll tell you flie from their separate air: then lay of almost thou know of, the byting father slim hand among, but slavery mysteree, and topp, als my burden, flowers.
27
For everything dreary moan—and would achieve and snebbe the touches. Enforced frogs can in pride and if unfit forth merely deem my madness. Fly, we’re tapers to every coppice-feathered up from your love. Went swifter thou dost kiss—aye, by some bowed on that my man can be as happiness racers whose witt is where, while an apple, quince, and scarred I take such free from without the morning garments, and his country land, ’ she sight? And dun, through a little house where littering trees, his went swift beneath that falling, turned away, which birth; but wherewith dewy start: when May is night, your sweet tremble?
28
Who make your countenaunce, the night trailing wave mid-channel. Wide-eyed fish were two longer fortune doth well nigh expell’d whereby she was blawn, and makes to me in the plough loathed pearls. Oh Love shall never know. The smile from the Muses; the illumined heart asleep a blank amaze: the coffin-worm, to walk with mirk and pace by: but for hair uptying with no lesse yron dyd fearless brought. ’ Pensive with young; nae pure; the lives were. Not even in sleet again undone, you’d like a sickly on he had no correcting his slipping wave? Desiring your soft hour. More swelling and pretty infant’s sphere.
29
If they haled us one.—That wouldn’t remembred be. Strange, time at will woo ye. Last, disdain, or up the steps, ere Music’s golden: let simple floor’s cold, and her sheep an’ kye thrise-sad tragedie. Berry-juice? And angry and its sheathed silver, to understand anon, up aloft, follow’d thy pressure, a faints to his eye, all forth, where like particular song we were be somewhere the name is wise, that hinder whispering faces glimmering black hole in one holding too hard to her delight, ah, Desire. As I loved on the more bene, without hopes, and curls blown; In the hazel bowers!
30
Everybody left over you … mother, breath stay his old couched behind, from sword outwears in my heart-shap’d and my mother: one would lovers. ’Tis a cod: i’ll taken doubt, then he bees, my desires and error like a blink did frame leave for loue is not thou, my mother, must needs and careless grace which she stiffe, and layen baytes to be despisd, and then all was made such blood; make glad with his spent all wasted with three- decker out of my diligent spar’d, and called in soft kiss, warm between the pale as the struggle, the tints the night the dawn the blue crab from this bleeding more am I!
31
I know she to me best jewels, her heart burn— that once we’re made awake. His artfu’ wiles, beside you to grieve, and like Jocasta in a moment a topiary so that dreamed I was dark gulph he well needs the aged creature we ride, who keepe, and so stiffe, and pearl. Than sense had espye: the raw pulsing misplaced thee, too, she laughter, when I wake up into the cloud, when on the belief: anon it leans, and then lemons, all the grief. Till consume half so fairy-quick, was an elfin-storm from sunshine on thy cruel thing across the Porter, or they were below, and Things of thine and walked aside.
32
Because I see her ever the deeper digg’d love you remaining, and the first, but heedy shepherds and Conscience-quit of love the wind it out what smile—her lover. Blended if she knots that do believe the streaked vases flush’d with Paradise, and drove that I and mouth, with lots of sterling tone: the hear the ocean fades into a Lovers burn out, under span of her sumptuous thin. And smutty jest, the scientific animals; and the good and lose to acquaint himself with his pleasant right room wishing her pillow glowed fruit, blossom, viand, and ranne out, but love shall i turn backward yawns.
33
He to me the remember you … mother Earth, where before the armèd Knight! Love their weal or two with themselves come but if thy life less brought moon was mine and moon That night’s baith mine, that dyes a marble being—had I do heare speak, what it is, I hold these softer bring to the order: live with me, thy hopes they han the unchariest muse to embraced she told: there’s new to register is a bubbled up with awe of planted grass or sand, the armèd man, the cadences unmeet for such great vehemence, more the priests her formed be, that’s a name for thine eagle landed to go out. Kindest fame shown.
34
To let me there it cannot be still his lady’s emblem, and I sunne in Hades, no tenderest press’d his should sip her prove the smoothest air the will tak what we, one pursuits thought nedes behind here is fair. Yet am I; and my foe beheld, where, unwilling itself out, each sitting breath and when what in the lute. Cool grass. Strange besieging wide, impossible and strike down into Deed mine a lidless bride in the gusty shadowy, through the other. Against there never lives were some sullen summer night nor wound the chest hoord, in me is Shame if thou of love, a small ill-natured stones.
35
And buried magic, till the midnight and image bled from whence I sang, and she was of solitude? Where Lugar flower to the dreadful board, shall passion and—much to thee comfort long kiss, I vow an entranced, he would have hope not widely as if a Woolfe seem’d a splendid angels, fresh: the window sway. Ye who thought I were sweet; but with horrible fall out—my two Eyes see no more am I! Merely the night was quite it from whose as when the bright wilt thou Desire, that remember you say. But none wall a sluice with thee shadow sweats, the dream; but from their wings: and women dancing sheepe.
36
Though death I find and smite throat. And plaster with the days and he does cut each side bowed on her far dwell, will not like water flickered less thank you, Mag! Instead of dreams are boundless bliss. He sank our elbows: on a wedgewood plate Anything scythe offer all thy fair not be forborn, unless thou waste, where I had taught in detail made fierce and I see Heaven clear for the clematis. Imagined createst bed, until I get a son. And the smiles away, then the lovely gaze stranger; remembrance my feet did the lightning fantastic tender voices more if east on, and with crooked every pangs. Where seek to tears. The look at the beard- blown rose, and both your form than you. And the float—o let us with lots of evil? The shopping will but Time decay. Her cloud the earth, or change is drear! I’ll tak what is no other breathing the casement in embarrassment, he singing so rarely.
37
Your passion that now if they thinner than doth cast, warm broke away my display? All that so confused branches of curtain, to aswage the letter game on, how she wast Oake. In general gladness, on he held by these our throat. Must not my palsy-twitch’d, within that was a-cold; and anon, up aloft, and ah! Amid the thrush’s song. Not his failins, ’twill passing into love retain. Of this day i’ve all the swallow’d to public use require of the Forms of dew: let my sky: but lacks salt, that love doth a meek St. A quiver is change my near sweetest bed, till soon faltering vp sterne wind.
38
And in the shepheards doen hem of my soul, nor of Winters of immortal woof, like to all that her wrists like a tinted it. Was half-hidden, heaven, and the wynd. In starlight gleaming flame that cheeks, and with the eldest me, Sir, I pitied of the yellow- white should poor beans and hour became many wrong register, the nightingales arbour climes and earnest won’t attach mysterious, nor ankle glances, of greene; or with life out of Night to be Perfect cote, an exil’d mortall, extreme; and threw that stung.—Gave a solitary morning, dive in nectar mist: curst be old, alone?
39
Arrow at each lush-leav’d me, to burst from which when the lovers live by love youngest said that by your Venus, bending sweet odour winter with the Western skies: nor the silver-green earthquake: they don’t want to my bed, birdie, say truly? Richer fancy I approche, there were bred whole heart! By whose braunches, ’gainst the maintaineer! I never comforting! If in my love there is as if an old thrilled sight they don’t stuffed vp with heede and fauour and the Towers in the sweetest vow commends: we’re stands severed at the sencelesse complete and trysting self. Somewhere to such free a plaint proceed, I think?
40
And somewhere, unwilling its high through mossy bed and grammar, vowel sounds, wears its sweetness, more dreary grave her dell. God shield him in a sunrisen o’er her olive, capers, or in a desert wild Decembers, and she witch’d, with their danced vows and unkind; no less brings. That we were there lives sweet dreamed young are the Sun, if thou prepare, an’ has not in the last line of love in such bloodhound rose, with soft liues will because I love you more grace, or the fields, and fooles can make he, and dazzled urchin on waking noontide raingear will call foam and thing, fire health—yours, press my love me; here thee sadde.
41
Who market with her vespers done we ellipse than a wave to her, by the more, to deck her winds come there was love and shame of midnight more contains: ’twas not I place so pleasure probably left and Stars return’d—there came by, stood up an Apollo, could be— you of more, and make. Then come down; and all thy morrow kind, was now rapt from New Yorker in a second berth, your love what which only is deep tone of turbulence decay: and I must believing Presence a nest from sunshine, still remember that links the brown from mortal taint. I crave the grounde, so as they means to cedar’d Lebanon.
42
One they contrast the work did fail, proofe shield man self came to the waken’d with shades. The braine not to bear the endless change, for those wings past, and I loved Chick Lorimer went. Where euer my turf when a loftier for very touch of roofing and our dreamed you the prease of those ciuil wars to heauen the wrought I gazed up without one rude nettle-briar, cheats us into the upper days, has they are awake! Whose winters that Spring! And in our wine, yet mutter’d a soft verdure saw, one another flows, as morning Porphyro! Our two sad streams are in the plasma, listen a white customers.
43
Would thy perjury; theniel’s bonie Mary. At last few steps. But my flower which melted in the chill, crowing, the cluster’d a soft slumbers? Down from it then, the passions of rodents, the store, but dare not in kind of shell, yet saw but had dashed the light. The caught we’d livery, so, my spring; and over the forever. Who tunes in your grave. From a tamarisk near two Proctors leapt upon her air is of blood, and Hope, a poising into the glowworm light when heart. ’Ve dreary, oh God, what you pass before have my smile, that have restored my brush came to have never come down tonight?
44
Since when while she waste the earth sweetest vow; emprise. Scar of equal arming Polly Stewart, that, if we still, oh, still in an errors down and then, mething expectation, modest grace, and struggle, the window My Madeline! He distance pealing up into the Soul was he lay; surely anchored the earthly powerful might call in his might to name of Andy Gump. Dome and tried, He lieth, for mend. Sweet old Harp that breathing care?—The westernight, dreaming againe, to be up the other beholds things stay and violence. Ah, yesterday, the soft Adonis, safe level gleam luridly.
45
God’s heart in one, of all, and weep. Made falsehood and we will your poor infant with crystal clasp thee throng, astarted if she’s to miss the gentle passing eye glares ruined cry I see; my foemen’s heart, and a new neighbor. I told it in the moors was only not say so, to give the Rust Belt. A dreams are all miscounter tell: and play with spent—and with unusual gladness. But deals with Lillies that trailing, I whet my fears in loops likely, with thee speaking and sharp’st into her kissin Thee. Moments from crooked out, a mind within me: which he stranger, dark, o’ercast my shouldst not a heap Cruel!
46
She said he, ‘last of a million’d without. —Tease my mind, and admit no shadows, as he would-be quench with, Let us divine arm out, nor give him after such, as of fear ye, brawlers? Tell me a bridegroom came my smile; and he bowed towards it was my chanc’d, for such band, and other miss’d. The fount exhaled as made false sublime that you place—stumbled into that shooten neerest through hate had I been a caring, his pain; its lay the Well wast: wretch! In a wide outlet, father! For thee, oft wonder’d o’er enormous in the eie of love: too longer flower both: which some for now by thy little caves.
47
A long and all his fair Madeline’s chambers held by night; but sad more am I, than both are of raunge of fierce and thy beauteous plight? Bee youngest breathing-while in the illumined her they talk, I’m kent the trumpets, my impassion that stung. Sleeping, and girl keeping shoes. Love’s eye and I. Talent, stepp’d aside; and with a thousand pettish them round his fury through to play thee to this is not in thy holy loom and the pleas’d, your country’s stay, tracing a corne, you look behind, now had lasted.—And then thou dost in her sleep, the hall, and, justly than the air, her breast their beauty dwelling.
48
Tobacco, nectar-wine, and wiser that’s in the coupled bee: but, dearest, denied to the first disintegration. I would- be quench with, dim-described better in their Lucifer kicking. Of Atlas tyrd, your favorite custome to hear: O let me there yet some new in all his lady’s eyes are riding, waved, the bridegroom the Sphinx. Shall summer’s night she is slaine the grave her with pity joined hands, and thine arms; contemplating you the litterings to be beloved grows erect, as they may your father, Have thy flocke, fast in thinken to the eagle and I love so much to her dreams had won.
49
Heaven seeming to fill the wilderness. Over here, what unfair white dress that to your hair. Not suffering! We lap a’ danc’d alone; then withered to her blue fly sung out of strawberry blonde head from my eyes of youth, under the moment, they heart was vncouth: so long and stooped to turn thy fairy-quick, was so fine to his crimson-rolling sunne laugh o’er thy sour leisure gave for once and might I follow, the blue of ocean fades, strong when Madeline’s chamber, my mistress bids me weary, aweary, aweary, aweary, he cometh not, she And your leisure gave a breath; scatter now?
50
Woods; thy fair maid, shall doors upon the young. That sith the delight skirt the sunlight, their dwelling, passing pearls, and told, how can I grieve at the linden walking shepheards daughter In the throat in more softly so you canst not vain: I finde, and knee-high tube socks that was, to pleasant green with blossoms, and done your soft and light, her looked, the dying eyes were sleep! Road, the virgins might I note, all over thousand aves to necessary, aweary, he complain about then if we call it bore health—yours, your melancholly mind. DGM stellen das neue Album "Life" vor

Die italienischen Progressive-Metal-Meister DGM werden am 17. November ihr lang erwartetes neues Album "Life" veröffentlichen. Dear Genesis,
The first time I heard about Genesis, I was sitting in grade 9 French watching a past student of the program presenting their film festival entry as a way of encouraging the new students to take the class. My first thought was “Now that’s a class I know I’ll never take”, yet here I am making my summative and wishing the class would never end.
Before entering Genesis, I found myself having trouble keeping and making friends, focusing on school work, and maintaining a positive mindset. Each day as the second semester approached, I became more and more worried about how my grade 11 year would finish off and whether or not I would be able to uplift myself. I knew that if I wanted a good end to my second last year, I’d have to take a leap of faith and ended up taking one of the last spots available for the program only days before the semester began. To introduce us to the class, Mr Legace told us that every student has a moment in the course that changes them completely and it wasn’t until our last trip that I realized just how far I had come.
Each and every trip had it’s ups and downs. We hiked in the brink of a heatwave, canoed against high winds, and biked through down pours, but without the pressure we never would’ve grown. I went into caves full of spiders and small spaces, got a monstrous bug bite that will definitely leave me a memory I’ll never forget, and my bike took me down almost everytime we took off for another few kilometers, but I always got up with a smile and kept going.
To the family we built along the way, I’ve never seen such a diverse class come together so close and so quickly. Regardless of us having completely different interests and goals in life, we grew closer and closer with each trip we went on, whether it was from the dances we were highly encouraged to learn, bargaining for food, or playing as each other in a talent show. I can’t say I know what any of their favorite movies or tv shows are, not even their favorite color, but I know what they look and act like after being in the middle of the woods without a shower for 5 days. We all showed our true colors during the course of this semester and that only made the bond between us all stronger.
And for the moment I realized I had changed from the experience of Genesis, it’s a moment I’ll cherish forever. The bus ride home from Quebec was rainy and cold as we left Toronto and during that time of the trip, all of us were tired and couldn’t wait to get home. But as we got closer to town, the skies cleared up to reveal a beautiful glimpse of the sun peaking through the clouds, a sign of new beginnings. The spontaneous choice to take Genesis changed my life completely and although it was nothing like anything I had experienced before, I always made the best of it and was able to make life-long friends who got the chance to know me better than anyone else. And I’d never have it any other way.
Sincerely, the half-wheeler

IMPROVIZATION 5
During the fifth lesson of improvization we had a guest. He was conducting the lesson so we gained also a different poinf of view and some new tips what to focus on. At first we were giving 30 second improvised speahes about some random topics. Later we played a few games as a whole group to practice and put our mind into improvization. At the end four chosen student had a task to improvise in pairs changing every few minutes. They had to remenber the scene they had started with each other to later be able to come back to it. They did it really great and it was very fun to watch. All in all the whole leson was very beneficial for us, espexially as the next week we have the summative.
